Master Craftsman
Minh Van started learning the trade at 20, when his father dragged him into the workshop, handed him a chisel, and gave him exactly one piece of advice: “Just hit the wood. If you mess up, the wood’ll let you know.”

Sculptural Organic Solid Wood Armchair
The ASHDECO Sculptural Organic Armchair blurs the line between furniture and sculpture. At first glance, it appears almost impossible - a continuous flow of solid wood bending, looping, and returning to itself in a single architectural gesture. Yet every curve serves a purpose. Every opening reduces visual weight. Every surface is shaped around the human body.
The chair begins as carefully selected solid hardwood, chosen for its grain character, strength, and natural beauty. The frame sweeps upward from the floor into integrated armrests, then curves seamlessly into the backrest, creating a unified form that feels carved rather than assembled. Large sculptural cutouts introduce lightness and negative space, allowing the chair to maintain a bold presence without overwhelming the room.
The seat and backrest are gently contoured to support relaxed sitting. Smooth rounded edges invite touch, while the flowing geometry creates comfort from every angle. Unlike conventional armchairs that rely on bulky cushions and heavy frames, this design achieves comfort through proportion, curvature, and craftsmanship.
Natural grain flows continuously throughout the piece, emphasizing the chair's sculptural form. Knots, figure patterns, mineral streaks, and subtle color variations remain visible beneath the hand-applied finish, ensuring every chair carries the unique character of the tree from which it was made.
Equally at home in a reading corner, living room, bedroom, gallery space, or boutique hotel lounge, the chair functions as both seating and visual centerpiece. From some angles it resembles a modern art installation. From others, a piece of organic architecture. Empty or occupied, it contributes to the room.
Its warm wood tones pair effortlessly with Japandi interiors, Organic Modern homes, Scandinavian minimalism, Wabi-Sabi spaces, and contemporary architectural environments. Style it with a linen cushion, a soft wool throw, and a sculptural floor lamp, or leave it completely unadorned and allow the craftsmanship to speak for itself.

Honest Limitations
Because each chair is handcrafted from real solid wood, natural variations in grain, color, knots, and figure are expected. No two chairs will ever be identical. These differences are not defects but evidence of genuine materials and hand craftsmanship. Designed for indoor use. Protect from prolonged moisture, direct heat sources, and excessive sunlight exposure.
A chair designed for sitting. A sculpture designed for living with.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
