Huan Ngo
Master Craftsman
Huan Ngo is the only man left in the workshop who still uses a hand saw for the very first cut - not because he doesn’t know how to use the machines, but because, as he puts it, “machines don’t know respect.”

A River of Light Carved Down the Front
A tall column of solid driftwood stands in a gentle S-curve from base to shade. A single continuous channel is carved down the front face, following the curve like a river carved into a canyon wall. A warm LED strip sits inside, casting a ribbon of amber light that traces every bend and swell of this wooden floor lamp from top to bottom. A tapered linen shade on top adds soft room light from above.
The Channel Is the Lamp
Without the channel, this would be a sculptural wood column with a shade. With it, the entire front face becomes a vertical light source that follows the organic rhythm of the S-curve. The channel is roughly one inch wide and half an inch deep, with smooth, rounded edges. The LED strip sits recessed at the bottom, invisible from any angle except directly above. What you see is a glowing river of warm amber running the full height of the body, widening where the curve bows outward and narrowing where it pulls inward.
Grain in Cross-Section
The driftwood carries dramatic two-tone grain that the channel interrupts and reveals in profile. The front face shows alternating bands of dark walnut-brown heartwood and lighter honey-gold sapwood in flowing cathedral arches. Where the channel cuts through, each color zone has a different density and texture. The dark bands absorb more light and glow a deep amber. The light bands reflect more and glow bright gold. That tonal variation runs the full length of this driftwood floor lamp and changes with every slight bend.
Slim Profile, Subtle Sway
The body is slender and upright, designed to stand close to furniture without demanding its own floor space. The S-curve shifts the centerline by roughly two to three inches at each bend. Enough for visible movement, restrained enough to read as elegant rather than dramatic. The sides and back are solid and uninterrupted, smooth grain with a satin finish.
Two-Stage Light Control
The inline dimmer on the braided cord uses a two-stage switch: first click lights the channel only, second click adds the shade bulb. Channel-only mode is the evening setting. Both on for reading or task light.
The LED strip is warm white (~2700K), running on low voltage from a small driver hidden inside the base. The tapered linen shade provides downward and upward ambient light. Soft room light from above, sculptural accent light from the full height of the body.
Where to Place This Wooden Floor Lamp
- Beside a bed or sofa where the light channel faces the seating area
- Next to a reading chair with both light stages on for task lighting
- Narrow hallways or entryways where the slim profile fits tight spaces
- Hotel rooms, spas, or gallery corners where the S-curve channel becomes a focal point
The Base
A rectangular block of the same driftwood, cross-cut to show end-grain rings, with the bark edge left on two sides and sealed. The channel terminates at the top of the base with a clean horizontal cutoff. Wide and heavy enough to stabilize the tall body on carpet or hardwood. Felt-padded.
Care and Placement
- Dry indoor use only. Not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor spaces.
- Keep the linen shade away from direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading.
- The channel collects dust along its length. Run a soft brush or compressed air lightly down the groove.
Fully Customizable
Need a taller body, deeper channel, a different shade fabric, or a matched pair for both sides of a reading area? Every piece is handcrafted and fully customizable. Contact our team with your requirements.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
