Huan Ngo
Master Craftsman
Huan Ngo is the only man left in the workshop who still uses a hand saw for the very first cut - not because he doesn’t know how to use the machines, but because, as he puts it, “machines don’t know respect.”

One Glowing Eye in a Dark Wood Body
A tall, slender column of solid driftwood stands beside the bed like a narrow vase, widening at the belly and tapering at both ends. One large eye-shaped opening is carved through the widest point, and warm amber light fills it completely, casting a soft golden oval across the floor and the edge of the bed. A linen drum shade sits on the narrow neck above, adding even room light from the top. The silhouette of this wooden floor lamp is clean, minimal, almost ceramic in its simplicity. Then you get close enough to see the flowing grain and touch the surface. Unmistakably a carved piece of tree.
The Eye Opening
A tall, narrow oval. Pointed at the top and bottom, widest across the center. The edges are thick and rounded, with grain flowing continuously around the entire perimeter in unbroken curves. The inner surface is finished smooth and catches the amber LED light from inside the hollow core, making the inner wood grain visible from across the room.
The contrast between dark exterior and illuminated warm interior is the defining visual of this driftwood floor lamp. At night, one glowing eye in a dark wood body. During the day, a sculptural void framed by flowing grain.
The Wood Speaks
The outer face carries dark walnut and espresso tones with flowing cathedral grain from years of natural aging. Lighter bands of honey and caramel run where sapwood meets heartwood, creating visual movement that follows the vertical taper of the body. The wood was selected for pieces where these tonal bands flow in long, continuous sweeps rather than tight knots, giving the finished lamp a smooth, calming visual rhythm that suits bedroom placement.
One opening. One hollow core. One clean body. The form lets the wood do the talking. Nothing competing for attention. Just grain, shape, light, and one glowing window.
Two Light Layers From One Lamp
A warm LED strip runs up the inside of the hollow core. Light reflects off the curved inner walls and exits through the eye opening, softened and warmed by the double reflection. The linen drum shade on top provides even ambient light from above.
An inline dimmer on the braided cord controls everything together. Full brightness for bedside reading. Low dim for a night light that projects one warm oval onto the floor.
Where to Place This Wooden Floor Lamp
- Beside the bed where the eye opening casts light at mattress height without glare
- Living room corners as a warm, minimal accent piece
- As a matched pair flanking both sides of the bed or a reading nook
- Spas, boutique hotels, or gallery spaces where the clean driftwood silhouette sets the tone
Integrated Base
The base flares outward gradually from the lower taper into a flat, stable foot. Felt-padded on the bottom. No separate disc or pedestal. No wobble on carpet or hardwood.
Care and Placement
- Dry indoor use only. For covered terraces in mild, dry climates, keep away from rain and salt spray.
- Dust the inner ledge of the eye opening with a soft brush or compressed air.
- Wipe the outer surface with a dry cloth.

Furniture Placement

- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use

- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
