Huan Ngo
Master Craftsman
Huan Ngo is the only man left in the workshop who still uses a hand saw for the very first cut - not because he doesn’t know how to use the machines, but because, as he puts it, “machines don’t know respect.”

One Opening. One S-Curve. One Piece of Driftwood.
A tall, slender column of solid driftwood rises from the floor in a gentle S-curve, swaying slightly left at the middle before straightening toward the linen shade on top. One long teardrop opening is carved through the body at waist height, where the curve bends widest. Warm amber light pours through that single opening, washing across the bed, the nightstand, and the floor in a soft golden pool. The rest of this wooden floor lamp stays solid and closed, dark driftwood grain flowing unbroken from base to shade.
The Curve Came First
The S-curve is not forced. Our artisans in Vietnam select driftwood blanks that already carry a natural lean or gentle bow from years of growing at an angle, bending under wind load, or leaning toward light. That existing curve becomes the foundation. The carving follows it, slimming the profile and accentuating the sway rather than fighting against the grain. The result is a body that looks like it grew into this shape on its own, because in a sense, it did.
The Teardrop Opening
One single opening interrupts the solid column. Narrow at the top, widest in the middle, tapered to a point at the bottom. The edges are rounded and smoothed, following the natural flow of the grain as it curves around the void. The inner surface is sanded and finished to the same standard as the exterior, because it is fully visible from across the room when the LED is on.
At night, the illuminated inner walls reveal grain detail, color depth, and mineral streaks that are invisible when this driftwood floor lamp is off. The carved edge creates a visible transition line where dark weathered exterior meets lighter, warmer heartwood in honey and caramel tones.
Two Light Layers From One Piece
A linen drum shade on top provides even ambient room light. The teardrop opening provides mid-height accent light from a hidden LED strip inside the hollow core. Two independent light layers from one piece of driftwood.
The inline dimmer controls both together. Full brightness for reading beside the bed. Low dim for a night light that casts one warm teardrop shape across the floor.
Where to Place This Wooden Floor Lamp
- Beside the bed as a reading lamp and night light in one
- Living room corners where you want a warm accent, not overhead glare
- As a matched pair flanking both sides of the bed or a sofa
- Hotel rooms, spas, or gallery spaces where the driftwood S-curve becomes a focal point
The Base
The column widens gradually toward the bottom, flaring into a stable foot that sits flat without a separate disc or pedestal. Felt-padded to protect floor surfaces. No wobble on carpet or hardwood.
Care and Placement
- Dry indoor use only. Not recommended for bathrooms or outdoor spaces.
- Keep the linen shade out of direct sunlight to prevent uneven fading.
- Dust the teardrop opening with a soft brush or compressed air. Wipe the outer surface with a dry or barely damp cloth.
Fully Customizable

Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
