Chung Dai
Master Craftsman
Chung Dai comes from the third generation of a woodworking family in Binh Dinh - a region famous for precious hardwoods and old-school craftsmanship. Around the workshop, he’s the man people trust with the hardest pieces: tree trunk furniture and log benches, the kind of work where you have to understand the whole tree before you even think about touching a chisel to it.

Organic Ergonomics Meets Functional Entryway Utility
Elevate your foyer, mudroom, or hallway with the fluid architectural grace of this sculptural saddle-seat solid wood entryway shoe bench by Ashdeco. Characterized by its gently dished saddle seat, continuous soft upturned lip edges, and branching organic leg supports that anchor down into a lower shoe shelf, this bench transforms everyday footwear routines into a moment of pure artisanal luxury. Its low-profile silhouette provides an inviting, comfortable perch while keeping your primary entryway neat and clutter-free.
Authentic Solid Wood Craftsmanship
Crafted entirely from genuine solid wood, achieving the smoothly carved saddle curve and the open-forked branch leg joinery requires master-level subtractive woodworking artistry. Running your hands over the contoured timber reveals the rich grain depth, golden honey-walnut undertones, and tactile warmth of real wood. Every single bench possesses its own natural identity - showcasing uninterrupted grain flows, subtle micro-textures, and unique timber knot signatures that deepen in character over time. A clear protective matte finish protects the wood against moisture and daily shoe scuffs while preserving its smooth, inviting touch.
Why Choose This Saddle-Seat Shoe Bench?
- Ergonomic Saddle Seating: The scooped seat surface contours naturally to the body, providing superior sitting comfort when putting on or taking off shoes.
- Sculptural Branch-Inspired Legs: Organic open-forked leg pillars deliver unshakeable structural stability while creating an airy, light-filled aesthetic.
- Integrated Lower Footwear Shelf: A sleek lower timber shelf keeps your daily loafers, dress shoes, or sneakers organized and off the floor.
- Versatile Organic Modern Styling: Complements Japandi, wabi-sabi, organic modern, Mediterranean, and minimalist architectural interiors effortlessly.

Honest Limitations & Maintenance
- Natural Wood Variations: As an authentic solid wood creation, natural variations in grain texture, shade depth, and subtle timber knot signatures are genuine marks of real wood craft.
- Substantial Solid Wood Mass: Due to the dense, high-grade timber construction, this shoe bench is sturdy and grounded, ensuring stable support while sitting.
- Shoe Bench Only: This listing includes the solid wood entryway shoe bench only; shoes, potted fiddle-leaf fig plant, and area rug are sold separately.
- Care Instructions: Dust regularly with a soft, dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Allow damp footwear to dry before placing on the lower shelf, and promptly wipe away moisture to preserve the smooth protective finish.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
