3. How to Choose the Right Bench Size

• Seating height: 17"-19" standard. Entryway shoe benches: 16"-18".
• Width: 36"-48" (1-2 people), 48"-60" (2-3 people), 60"-72" (dining alongside 6-person table).
• Depth: 12"-16" most benches. 16"-18" for deeper seat or cushion room.
• Clearance: 36" walkway in front. 36" behind dining bench for stepping over.
• With backrest: Total height 30"-36". More comfort for garden/patio, harder to tuck under table.

4. Where to Use a Bench

• Entryway: By front door for shoes + coat rack above. Pair with console tables across the hall.
