A vertical trunk mounts to the wall with a full sculptural mushroom cap crowning the top. Below that cap, eight half-moon shelves branch out from the trunk on alternating sides, each one carved with gill lines across its upper surface and a raised back edge that holds books upright.
The mushroom cap on top is the signature. It is a full three-dimensional carved cap with a domed surface, smooth on top and gill-textured underneath, wide enough to serve as the top display shelf. It turns the entire bookshelf into a recognizable mushroom silhouette visible from anywhere in the room.
How the shelves are arranged
Four shelves on the left, four on the right, staggered vertically so every shelf is visible from the front. Each shelf is a half-moon shape, flat on the back where it meets the trunk and curved along the front edge. The carved gill lines run across the top surface of each shelf, radiating from the trunk outward to the curved rim.
The shelves are sized to hold a row of 6 to 10 books standing spine-out. The raised edge along the back (trunk side) and the slight upward curve at the front rim create a shallow channel that keeps books standing without bookends. Small objects like pinecones, succulents, candles, and small figurines fit comfortably alongside the books.
Each shelf holds 12 to 18 lbs.
The trunk
Smooth, cylindrical, and straight. Not bark-textured like some of our other designs. This trunk is finished clean and round, matching the smooth top surface of the mushroom cap. The trunk extends a few inches below the bottom shelf pair, giving the piece a grounded base even though it hangs on the wall.
The cap
Full mushroom cap carved from solid wood. Domed on top, gill-carved underneath. Wide enough to overhang the trunk by several inches on all sides. Use it as the top shelf for a trailing plant, a stack of favorite books, or a collection of small objects displayed at the highest point.
Mounting
Concealed steel mounting plate behind the trunk. The trunk covers all hardware completely. Drilling template, studs screws, and wall anchors included. Two people, 30 minutes.
Where it fits
Living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries, reading nooks, hallways, home offices. The vertical layout takes up about 30 inches of wall width. Works between windows, in narrow hallway sections, beside doorways, or as a bedroom focal point above a reading chair.
The mushroom silhouette makes it a natural fit for cottagecore, woodland, organic modern, and nature-themed kids rooms. It also works in minimalist spaces where the sculptural shape stands on its own against a plain white wall.
Material and finish
Solid oak with a satin oil finish. Golden honey tones with visible straight grain running the length of the trunk and radiating through each shelf. Smooth rounded edges on every surface. The finish deepens naturally over time.

Every piece is hand-carved by our artisans in Vietnam. Grain patterns, gill line spacing, and cap curvature vary between pieces. That is handmade.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
