Everything you need to know
Detailed information about this piece — tap a section to expand.
Transform your fireplace into a warm, captivating center of art with this solid wood live-edge fireplace mantel shelf. Featuring authentic organic edge contours and a thick, substantial slab profile, this piece brings the timeless warmth, charm, and luxury of natural wood directly into your home.
Why Choose This Piece?
- 100% Genuine Solid Wood: Crafted strictly from a single, heavy-grade solid wood slab (never hollow MDF, particle board, or synthetic veneers). Its dense, solid timber construction ensures decades of durability, heat resilience, and structural integrity.
- Meticulous Hand-Carved Craftsmanship: The front edge preserves the natural organic curves of the tree trunk, expertly hand-carved and sanded to produce a smooth, tactile surface while preserving its rich rustic aesthetic.
- Authentic Solid Wood Character: Every shelf stands apart with unique knot formations, deep-set natural grain variations, and rich, warm tones - delivering a luxury look that synthetic wood alternatives can never match.
- Functional Styling Surface: The sturdy, deep top surface provides an ideal display platform for artwork, framed photos, brass candleholders, dry floral arrangements, or seasonal holiday decor.
Ideal Placement
- Fireplace Accent: Mounts above brick, stone, or modern electric fireplaces as a striking focal mantelpiece.
- Architectural Floating Shelf: Can also be installed as a heavy-duty floating shelf in entryways, living rooms, or executive home offices.
Honest Limitations & Natural Characteristics
- One-of-a-Kind Natural Variations: Because each mantel is cut from natural tree slabs, distinct knots, natural checking, and unique edge curves are inherent marks of character - no two mantels are ever identical.
- Heavy Weight Profile: Given its thick solid wood construction, this mantel is heavy and requires secure wall mounting onto solid masonry or wall studs during installation.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
