Huan Ngo
Master Craftsman
Huan Ngo is the only man left in the workshop who still uses a hand saw for the very first cut - not because he doesn’t know how to use the machines, but because, as he puts it, “machines don’t know respect.”

Three Ribbons of Driftwood, One Solid Piece
Three thick ribbons of driftwood twist around each other from the floor to the shade, spiraling upward in a tight braid that opens and closes as it climbs. This is not three pieces wrapped together. The entire twist of this wooden floor lamp is carved from a single solid column of driftwood, with the material between the ribbons removed by hand. The grain flows continuously through each ribbon, following the spiral path, giving the structure its strength despite the extensive material removal.
Carved by Hand in Vietnam
Our artisans start with a solid driftwood cylinder and carve inward from every angle, following the grain, until only the three ribbons remain. No CNC routing. No laser cutting. No factory assembly. Each piece takes weeks to complete. The spiral carving is the most demanding technique in our workshop because one wrong cut through a ribbon means starting over from a new blank.
No Two Will Ever Match
No glued joints. No MDF. No composite. Solid driftwood throughout, and because every blank has different grain, the driftwood floor lamp you receive will not exist on any other piece. The outer surfaces carry the grey-brown patina that driftwood develops over years of exposure to wind, water, and sun. The inner faces, visible through the gaps where the ribbons separate, glow warm amber from the LED light source hidden inside the hollow center column.
Where the carving cut through to fresh wood beneath, warmer tones appear: honey, caramel, and golden brown. That contrast between aged exterior and fresh interior changes with every quarter-turn of the spiral as different faces catch or lose the room light.
Light Through Wood
Round holes of varying sizes are drilled through each ribbon at irregular intervals. Some pass all the way through, projecting small golden circles onto the nearest wall. Others stop partway into the wood, creating shallow wells that glow from within. The hole placement follows the natural features of the driftwood: knots, grain swirls, and color transitions that become visible when backlit.
A linen drum shade sits on top (neutral warm grey), providing even ambient room light from above. Below the shade, the twisted driftwood body provides a second layer of accent light through the perforated holes and the gaps between ribbons. The two light sources work together or independently using the inline dimmer on the cord.
The Base
A thick round disc of driftwood, cross-cut to expose growth rings, with the natural bark edge left on and sealed. Wide enough to keep this tall wooden floor lamp stable on carpet or hardwood.
Placement and Care
- Dry indoor use only. Driftwood is stable in climate-controlled rooms but responds to humidity swings. Not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor spaces.
- Dust the outer surfaces with a soft cloth. Compressed air works for the holes and inner gaps between ribbons.
Fully Customizable
Need a different height, shade fabric, or a matched pair with similar driftwood tone? Every piece is handcrafted and fully customizable. Contact our team with your requirements.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
