Huan Ngo
Master Craftsman
Huan Ngo is the only man left in the workshop who still uses a hand saw for the very first cut - not because he doesn’t know how to use the machines, but because, as he puts it, “machines don’t know respect.”

One Ribbon. One Block. One Unbroken Spiral.
A single wide ribbon of driftwood wraps around itself from the floor to the shade, twisting in smooth, continuous loops that open inward to reveal warm amber light glowing from within. The outer surface is dark walnut brown with flowing cathedral grain. The inner surface, visible through each open loop, catches the hidden LED and glows golden honey. The ribbon never breaks, never joins, never stops. One piece of wood, carved from one block, spiraling upward in an unbroken infinity path. That is what makes this wooden floor lamp unlike anything else on the market.
85% of the Wood Removed. By Hand.
The form looks simple. One ribbon, one twist direction, one continuous surface. But that simplicity required removing roughly 85 percent of the original driftwood block to arrive at the final shape. Our artisans in Vietnam start with a solid cylinder and carve inward from every angle, following the grain, until only the ribbon remains. Each loop maintains consistent wall thickness so the ribbon looks even from every viewing angle. The margin between too thin and too thick is measured in millimeters.
Two Tones, One Surface
The driftwood carries two distinct tonal zones. The outer face shows the aged surface character from years of natural weathering: darker pigmentation, tighter grain compression, and subtle grey undertones mixed into the brown. The inner face, where the carving cut through to protected wood, shows warmer, lighter tones with more open grain and richer color variation.
As the ribbon spirals, these two faces alternate between facing the viewer and facing away, creating a slow rotation of dark-to-light-to-dark that moves up the entire height of this driftwood floor lamp.
Light From Within
Light from the internal LED strip follows the hollow center column and illuminates the inner face of every loop. The warm amber glow escapes through each opening, projecting soft crescents of light onto the nearest wall and floor. The light pattern shifts as you walk around the lamp because each loop opens at a different angle.
A linen drum shade on top provides practical room light from above. The spiral body provides accent light from within. Both sources run on the same circuit with an inline dimmer. At full brightness, the lamp lights a reading area. At low brightness, the spiral body becomes a warm glow in the corner of a living room, bedroom, or gallery.
Integrated Base
The base is part of the ribbon itself. The lowest loop flares outward into a wide, stable foot that sits flat on the floor without a separate pedestal or disc. The ribbon simply widens at the bottom, curves flat, and becomes its own base. No wobble, no separate parts.
Where to Place This Wooden Floor Lamp
- Living room corners where you want sculptural light, not just overhead light
- Beside a bed as a statement standing lamp that replaces a basic nightstand light
- Entryways, hotel lobbies, or spa spaces where the driftwood texture sets the tone
- Next to a reading chair with the dimmer turned up for functional light
Good to Know
- Dry indoor use only. Driftwood is stable in controlled environments but responds to humidity changes.
- Dust with a soft cloth along the outer ribbon. Compressed air works for the inner loops and gaps.

- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
