Dien Luc
Master Craftsman
Dien Luc grew up in the mountains of Nghe An, where wood wasn’t just a material - it was part of everyday language. He became known in the workshop for working with slabs full of knots, wild grain, and unpredictable patterns - the exact pieces most craftsmen quietly push to the side and hope someone else deals with.

One Piece of Wood That Splits, Twists, and Rejoins
Two strands of solid driftwood rise from the floor as one, split apart at the belly to form an eye-shaped opening, then twist back together and rejoin beneath the linen shade above. Warm amber light fills the eye from inside, casting a soft golden oval across the duvet, the nightstand, and the floor. These are not two separate pieces joined together. They are one piece of driftwood, carved so the body divides and reunites, with the light living in the space where wood was removed.
Flame, Not Vase
The form is slender and vertical, closer to a candle flame than a vase. Narrow base. The body widens slightly where the two strands separate, reaching maximum width at the center of the eye, then pulls back inward as the strands rejoin above. The taper from the eye to the shade neck is long and graceful, the two strands twisting gently around each other as they merge, leaving a faint spiral seam where inside wood meets outside wood.
The Eye
Tall and narrow. Pointed at the top and bottom where the strands meet, widest across the center where they are farthest apart. Large enough to see through completely from across the room. At night, with the LED on, the opening becomes the brightest element in the room: a floating amber eye framed by dark driftwood curves.
Dark Curves, Warm Core
The outer faces of both strands show deep walnut brown with subtle grey undertones and compressed grain from years of natural aging. The inner faces, where the strands pull apart and expose the heartwood, show lighter honey and golden caramel tones. That two-tone contrast is strongest at the edges of the eye, where the transition from dark exterior to warm interior traces a visible line around the entire perimeter.
Two Light Layers
A warm LED strip runs up the hollow core behind the eye opening. The light reflects off the curved inner heartwood before exiting through the eye, softening and warming the color. A tapered linen shade on top provides soft ambient room light from above.
An inline dimmer on the braided cord controls both together. Full brightness for bedside reading. Low dim for a sculptural night light that projects one warm eye shape onto the bedroom wall.
Integrated Base
The lower end of the single body widens slightly into a stable foot. Felt-padded. No separate disc or pedestal.
Care and Placement
- Dry indoor use only. A climate-controlled bedroom with sheer curtains filtering direct sunlight is ideal.
- Dust the inner ledge of the eye with a soft brush or compressed air.
- Wipe the outer surface with a dry cloth.
Fully Customizable
Need a taller body, wider eye opening, a different shade, or a matched pair for both sides of the bed? Every piece is handcrafted and fully customizable. Contact our support team with your requirements.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
