Wall Mounted Mushroom Gill Tree Bookshelf With Curved Branch Shelves

A thick trunk mounts vertically to your wall, and six curved shelves branch out from it on alternating sides. Each shelf widens as it extends from the trunk, flaring into a broad, gently upturned platform wide enough for a row of standing books. The whole thing reads like a cross-section of a tree with mushroom gill fans growing from its sides.

The detail that makes it different from every other wall tree bookshelf is on the underside of the shelves and along the trunk surface. Carved gill lines radiate outward from the trunk through each branch shelf, fanning from the narrow connection point to the wide outer edge. The same radiating pattern runs down the trunk itself between the branch joints. When sunlight hits the wall at an angle, these carved lines throw fine shadow patterns that shift throughout the day.

How the shelves work

Each shelf curves upward slightly at both the front and back edges, creating a shallow channel that holds books standing upright without bookends. The curve is subtle enough that it does not look like a tray or a ledge. It just keeps things in place.

The shelves alternate left and right as they climb the trunk. Two on the left, two on the right, staggered so no shelf directly blocks the one above it. Books, plants, and objects on every tier are visible from the front without craning your neck.

Each shelf holds 15 to 20 lbs. That is 8 to 12 books per shelf, a medium potted plant, or a mix of decorative objects.

The trunk

Wide and flat-backed for flush wall mounting. The front face is rounded and carved with gill texture running vertically between shelf joints. Where each shelf meets the trunk, the junction flares smoothly, the way a real branch emerges from a tree. No hard angles, no visible seams.

Mounting

Concealed steel brackets behind the trunk bolt to wall studs. The trunk covers all hardware. From the front, you see only carved wood against the wall. Mounting screws, stud anchors, and a drilling template are included. Two people, about 30 minutes.

Where it fits

Living rooms, home offices, bedrooms, hallways, reading corners. The narrow vertical footprint works on wall sections as slim as 30 inches wide. The alternating branch layout keeps visual weight balanced, so it does not look lopsided even on a wall with nothing else on it.

Pair two on either side of a window or doorway for a symmetrical woodland frame. Or install one above a desk, beside a bed, or at the end of a hallway where you want a focal point that also holds your books.

Material and finish

Solid oak with a satin oil finish. Golden honey tones with prominent grain visible across every surface. The grain follows the curve of each shelf, highlighting the organic shape. Smooth, rounded edges throughout. The finish deepens naturally with age and light.

• Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
• In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.
