“A knot in the wood is not a flaw. It is the tree remembering something.”
Dien Luc grew up in the mountains of Nghe An, where wood wasn’t just a material - it was part of everyday language. He became known in the workshop for working with slabs full of knots, wild grain, and unpredictable patterns - the exact pieces most craftsmen quietly push to the side and hope someone else deals with.
Dien Luc does the opposite. Those are the boards he goes looking for first.
He believes every mark, crack, and imperfect surface carries a story that deserves to be shown properly, not sanded away and hidden under perfection. Around him, even the roughest piece of wood somehow ends up feeling honest instead of damaged.
