Thac Huynh was born in Hue into a family with a long tradition of royal-style wood carving, and you can see that patience in every piece he touches. He calls it “being slow in the right places.”
He specializes in fine detail carving - especially the ribbed undersides on Ashdeco’s mushroom shelves, all shaped carefully by his own hands. Around the workshop, the other craftsmen joke that he probably counts every single ridge one by one.

A thick trunk rises from your wall with two mushroom caps branching out from its sides, each one wide enough to hold a vase, a candle, or a potted plant without crowding.
Our artisans carve the trunk from a single block of solid wood, keeping the natural bark texture and knot detail visible along its full length. The top is cut at an angle to show the end grain, like a freshly sawn branch brought indoors. Each mushroom cap extends outward with a broad, flat surface on top and deeply carved gill lines on the underside.
2 wide mushroom cap shelves. Each cap gives you a generous display surface that holds more than a typical mushroom shelf. The wide, gently curved top keeps a ceramic pot, a glass terrarium, a candle on a dish, or a small stack of books steady without slipping. Both caps extend from opposite sides of the trunk, balancing the visual weight and keeping displayed items separated.
Deep hand-carved gill detail. The underside of each cap features wide, pronounced gill lines radiating from where the cap meets the trunk all the way to the outer edge. These are not shallow surface marks. The gills are carved deep enough to cast defined shadow lines under any lighting, visible from across the room. This is the detail that makes the piece read as sculpture, not just a shelf.
Thick, solid trunk with natural bark. The trunk is round, heavy, and carved from one piece of wood. Bark texture wraps the surface with ridges, knots, and natural grain variations preserved through the carving process. The end-grain top adds a raw, honest finish that shows the cross-section of the wood.

How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
