Detailed information about this piece — tap a section to expand.
Take a mushroom cap, scale it to table height, carve the gill pattern into the outer band, raise the rim so nothing rolls off the edge, and add two smaller mushroom shelves on the trunk below. That is this table.
The round tabletop has a raised lip running all the way around the perimeter. The lip turns the surface into a contained tray where a coffee cup, a candle, keys, or a stack of coasters stay put without sliding toward the edge. In the center of the top, a short rounded knob rises from the surface, replicating the attachment point where a real mushroom cap meets its stem. Around the outside of the tabletop, between the flat surface and the underside, a deep gill band wraps the entire circumference. The gill lines are carved vertically into the wood in tight, even rows. From the side, the gill band is the first thing you notice. The shadow between each carved line changes throughout the day as the light angle shifts.
Below the tabletop, the trunk is a thick, solid column with natural grain movement, knots, and fine surface cracks left visible. Two small mushroom cap shelves grow from the trunk at staggered heights on the same side. Each small cap has its own short stem connecting it to the trunk and a smooth flat top for a drink, a phone, a small plant, or a coaster. The small caps add side storage at arm-reach height without increasing the table footprint.
Our Vietnamese artisans carve this entire piece from solid wood. The tray top, the gill band, the central knob, the trunk, and both side caps are all one continuous piece of hardwood. The warm golden tone and swirling grain patterns come from the wood itself.

Tray-style tabletop with raised rim
The raised lip is carved from the same block as the rest of the top. It adds roughly half an inch of height around the entire perimeter, enough to catch a rolling pen or contain a small spill. The inner tray surface is flat and smooth for everyday use.
Full-circumference gill band
The carved gill band runs unbroken around the outside of the tabletop. Each vertical groove is cut individually from top to bottom of the band. On a 24-inch top, the band contains over 150 carved lines. This is the most time-consuming element of the piece and the detail that draws the most attention in person.
Solid trunk pedestal
The trunk shows natural character marks: fine checks, mineral streaks, and grain shifts that developed over decades of growth. The base sits flat on the floor. No legs, no hardware, just the solid wood column supporting the full weight of the tray top.

Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
