Leopards, jaguars, and clouded leopards climb for safety and prey storage. Their anatomy - strong forelimbs, flexible spines, long tails - informs what we replicate in Ashdeco designs: grip, launch support and balance.

WORKSHOP TEST: Simulating a leap
We model a leap by applying a lateral impulse at the perch edge and measuring joint response. The key observation at the Ashdeco test bench: joints with continuous cores dissipate the impulse into the base; thin tube joints concentrate stress and fail earlier.
MAKER TIP: Bolt & torque protocol
- Use M10 bolts in primary junctions, torque to ~25 Nm in hardwood.
- Mark bolt heads after first assembly to spot retorque needs.
- If a bolt strips, stop; repair with a hardwood insert or replace the section.
