Alex Nguyen never went to woodworking school. Everything he knows came from watching, testing, failing, and spending his first two years ruining more pieces of wood than he’d probably like to admit in public.

Everything you need to know
Detailed information about this piece — tap a section to expand.
Some kitchen shelves hold things. This one holds attention. The scalloped spice rack is carved from solid wood into a rhythmic wave pattern along both side panels - a detail you will not find on a single mass-produced shelf, because it cannot be machine-stamped. Every curve is shaped by hand, one pass of the chisel at a time.
Mounted on the wall, it holds four tiers of open shelving - enough for spice jars, dried goods, small ceramics, or a curated collection of kitchen essentials. The open-front design keeps everything visible and within reach, while the solid wood structure carries real weight without flexing or sagging over time.
👉 Genuinely Solid Wood, Not Veneer
This is not particleboard wrapped in a wood-look laminate. Every shelf, every side panel, every wave in the scalloped edge is cut from real solid wood - the kind that develops a richer patina with age instead of peeling or chipping.
👉 Hand-Carved Scalloped Edges
The wavy side profile is carved by hand by our artisans - a slow, deliberate process that gives the piece a soft, organic silhouette instead of the hard rectangular lines of a typical kitchen shelf. No two scalloped edges come out perfectly identical, and that is exactly the point.
👉 Real Everyday Function
This is a working kitchen shelf first, a beautiful object second. Each tier is sized to hold standard spice jars, small canisters, or pantry items with the rim of the shelf preventing items from sliding off. Use it above a stove, beside a pantry door, or as a stand-alone wall feature for plants and ceramics if you prefer to keep it decorative.
👉 Where It Belongs
Mount it above a countertop within easy reach of cooking, beside a stove for active-use spices, in a pantry corner for canned goods and jars, or in a farmhouse-style dining nook for visual warmth. The open shelving works equally well as a styled display for ceramics, dried herbs, and glass jars if your kitchen leans more decorative than functional.
👉 Fully Customizable
Width, height, depth, number of tiers, wood tone, and finish can all be adjusted to your kitchen. If you need a size outside our standard offering, our team will work with you directly: Contact Customer Support for a Custom Order.
Honest Limitations
As a handcrafted solid wood product, natural variations in grain, knots, and color are part of its authentic character - no two pieces are ever identical. Each shelf tier is designed for light-to-moderate kitchen items (recommended maximum 5-8 kg per tier, evenly distributed). Keep away from direct water exposure, excessive humidity, or prolonged strong sunlight. Clean with a soft dry cloth or wood-specific care products to preserve its finish for years.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
