Chung Dai
Master Craftsman
Chung Dai comes from the third generation of a woodworking family in Binh Dinh - a region famous for precious hardwoods and old-school craftsmanship. Around the workshop, he’s the man people trust with the hardest pieces: tree trunk furniture and log benches, the kind of work where you have to understand the whole tree before you even think about touching a chisel to it.

- One of a Kind, Every Time

Live Edge Solid Walnut Bench
Handcrafted from a single solid walnut slab, this bench keeps the tree's natural edge running untouched along both sides of the seat. Two solid slab legs support the top with nothing in between. No backrest, no carvings, no distraction. Just the wood as it grew.
The walnut is seasoned outdoors for 18 months then kiln-dried to full stability before any cut is made. Every bench comes from one continuous slab, so the grain, knots, and color shifts in your piece belong to that tree alone. We photograph your exact bench and send you the images for approval before it leaves our Da Nang workshop.
This bench works everywhere. Set it in an entryway under a mirror. Place it beneath a window where the light catches the live edge. Line it along a garden path or a covered outdoor hallway. The 12 inch height keeps the profile low and grounded. The 14 inch depth gives you real sitting room without the piece feeling heavy.
Because the two legs are cut from the same slab as the seat, the whole bench reads as one continuous block of walnut when viewed from the side. The live edge is natural and irregular. Some sections curve inward, others flare slightly outward. That variation is the point.
Solid walnut. Two slab legs. One live edge seat. A bench built to stay in the family for decades.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
