A Living Woodland Sculpture for the Thoughtful Reader
Invite quiet woodland serenity into your interior with our winter twig canopy freestanding bookshelf handcrafted in solid wood. Transcending conventional upright cabinetry, this statement installation bridges large-scale botanical sculpture with functional home library storage. Rising from a heavily contoured, grounded timber root flare, the trunk arches gracefully upward through five fluid, undulating display tiers before blooming into delicate, hand-sculpted winter twigs that fan organically across the wall. It converts any blank surface into a captivating biophilic gallery.

The Authentic Integrity of Real Solid Timber
Every sweeping contour, curved shelf edge, and reaching branch is sculpted entirely from genuine solid wood, celebrating the raw vitality of authentic timber. Unlike synthetic boards or composite cores, real wood reveals deep tactile warmth, continuous grain flow, and rich heartwood tonal depth that patinas beautifully with time. Finished with a protective, breathable low-luster matte sealant, the surface resists book friction and ambient dust while keeping the organic texture soft to the touch.

Why Choose This Living Tree Bookcase?

  • Five Sinuous Display Ledges: Cantilevered curved shelves step upward along the trunk, providing generous vertical clearances for tall art folios, poetry collections, hardcovers, and curated ceramics.
  • Hand-Carved Twig Canopy: Delicate sculptural branches branch outward along the upper wall, introducing kinetic organic movement and casting dynamic shadows with natural room lighting.
  • Grounded Root Foundation: An expansive solid timber base anchors the unit directly against the floor, ensuring physical balance and architectural stability.
  • Transformative Spatial Anchor: Elevates open living spaces, sunrooms, high-ceiling lofts, and Japandi or Organic Modern design environments.
  • Ideal Placement: Exquisite across living room perimeter walls, peaceful reading corners, master bedroom retreats, or creative design studios.

Tailored Dimensions & Custom Craftsmanship

  • Substantial Timber Profile: Crafted with a sturdy, reassuring timber profile across the trunk, base root flare, and curved ledges to ensure generations of reliable load support.
  • Custom Sizing: Seeking an extended ceiling reach, wider ledge spans for oversized art collections, or adjusted proportions? We build to custom dimensions upon request. Adjustments to overall proportions are available for an additional fee. Please contact our customer support team to discuss your custom project.

Honest Limitations to Keep in Mind

  • Inherent Timber Character: Because each piece is sculpted by hand from authentic solid wood, unique wood grain variations, organic knot placement, and subtle coloration shifts are natural, ensuring your bookcase is an unrepeatable original.
  • Specialized Installation & Wall Anchoring: Due to the substantial weight of authentic solid timber loaded with books, securing upper wall anchor points into studs or solid masonry is mandatory for absolute safety.

Furniture Placement

  •  Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
  •  Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.

Cleaning & Upkeep

  •  Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
  •  Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.

Weight Capacity & Use

  •  Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
  •  When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.

Preventing Mold & Mildew

  •  Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
  •  In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same

Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.

How long until my piece arrives?

Shipping itself is quick: 5 to 7 business days once your piece leaves our workshop. Most of the time goes into crafting your piece and your photo approval. We craft your piece, send you photos to approve, and ship it after you approve. Crafting and approval usually take 7 to 14 business days, so the estimated total is 12 to 21 business days. A slow photo approval can extend this. During holidays or busy periods it may take longer, and if there is a significant delay we will email you. All shipments include tracking and insurance.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. We offer free shipping on all orders.

How long does a commission take?

4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.

How do I take care of my wood piece?

Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.

What if my piece develops cracks?

Wood expands and contracts with humidity. Minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.

Can I return a piece?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery if your piece has a manufacturer defect or was damaged in shipping. To start, email support@ashdeco.com with your order number and the reason. For defective, damaged or incorrect items we send a prepaid return label and cover return shipping. Once we receive and inspect the returned piece, we send a replacement or a refund. Refunds are processed within 2 business days after we receive your return. Custom or personalized pieces cannot be returned. See our full Refund Policy for exchanges and other details.
