Chung Dai
Master Craftsman
Chung Dai comes from the third generation of a woodworking family in Binh Dinh - a region famous for precious hardwoods and old-school craftsmanship. Around the workshop, he’s the man people trust with the hardest pieces: tree trunk furniture and log benches, the kind of work where you have to understand the whole tree before you even think about touching a chisel to it.

In a world dominated by mass production, the Sculptural Solid Wood Bench stands as a testament to the enduring beauty of handcrafted art and organic design. This is more than just a seating solution - it is a functional sculpture designed to bring the soul of nature into your home.
The Essence of Real Solid Wood
The core appeal of this piece lies in its authentic solid wood construction. Unlike engineered alternatives or thin veneers, the true nature of the wood is fully revealed through sweeping grain patterns, rich tonal depth, and natural organic variation. When you run your hand across its smooth, hand-finished surface, you experience the substantial density, structural integrity, and tactile warmth that only genuine hardwood can provide. Every subtle knot, grain shift, or natural texture is a mark of individuality, making each bench uniquely alive with character.
A Sculptural Statement of Difference
What sets this bench apart from traditional furniture is its fluid, organic geometry. The seating surface arches gracefully like a flowing ribbon, supported by robust hand-sculpted pedestal bases that create both visual power and ergonomic comfort. This intentional design eliminates harsh, rigid angles in favor of soft curves and sculptural harmony, making it an ideal statement piece for Japandi, Wabi-Sabi, Organic Modern, minimalist, and luxury contemporary interiors.
Versatile Placement
With its striking silhouette, this bench is designed to command attention across a variety of spaces:
- Entryway: Serves as a powerful focal point that immediately defines the artistic character of your home.
- Bedroom: Positioned at the foot of the bed, it introduces warmth, sophistication, and practical elegance.
- Living Room or Hallway: Functions as both seating and sculptural decor, transforming transitional spaces into curated design moments.
- Reading Nook or Gallery Space: Creates an elevated artistic atmosphere while maintaining practical functionality.
Honest Limitations
Because this bench is handcrafted from natural solid wood, it possesses authentic organic qualities that should be appreciated:
- Natural Movement: Real wood responds subtly to environmental humidity, and minor seasonal expansion, contraction, or small surface checks may naturally occur over time. These are normal characteristics of genuine wood and do not affect structural durability.
- Substantial Weight: Due to its premium solid wood construction, this bench has a significant presence and weight. Permanent placement or assisted moving is recommended.
Tailored to Your Vision
Every home has its own rhythm, which is why this sculptural bench is fully customizable. Dimensions, thickness, proportions, finish, and overall sculptural form can be adjusted to perfectly fit your personal space and design vision.
Fully Customizable:
Custom sizing options are available to ensure this handcrafted bench integrates seamlessly into your interior, whether for grand entryways, intimate bedrooms, or expansive gallery-inspired living spaces.
This handcrafted sculptural solid wood bench is more than furniture - it is an enduring expression of artistry, craftsmanship, and natural elegance that transforms everyday living.
Furniture Placement
- Position your furniture away from direct sunlight, or use blinds or curtains to reduce sun exposure.
- Always set your furniture on a level surface to preserve its balance and structure.
Cleaning & Upkeep
- Regularly wipe down your furniture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia, as these can ruin the finish and damage the wood.
Weight Capacity & Use
- Respect the recommended weight limit for each piece to ensure its durability.
- When moving furniture, lift it instead of dragging or pushing to prevent surface scratches or joint damage.
Preventing Mold & Mildew
- Quickly wipe up any spills to stop moisture from penetrating the wood.
- In areas with high humidity, use a dehumidifier to maintain an ideal moisture balance.

No two tables are ever the same
Every plank carries its own grain, color, and knots. These aren't flaws - they are time's signature, the fingerprint of a tree that lived for decades. When you touch a Ashdeco table, you're touching the years it stood through.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about our pieces, commissions, and care.
How long does shipping take?
In Vietnam: 3-5 days. International: 10-14 days. Larger pieces (tables, cabinets) may take longer due to custom crating. All shipments include tracking and insurance.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. Shipping is calculated by weight + dimensions at checkout. You'll see the exact quote before paying.
How long does a commission take?
4-8 weeks depending on complexity. A 6-seater dining table takes ~6 weeks, a console cabinet ~4 weeks, a large sideboard ~8 weeks.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
50% deposit is required when you confirm sketches. The remaining 50% is due when the piece is finished, before shipping. Full refund within 48 hours of deposit if you change your mind.
How do I take care of my wood piece?
Wipe with a damp cloth — no chemicals. Apply wood oil 1-2 times per year (we include a starter bottle). Avoid direct sunlight and big humidity changes.
What if my piece develops cracks?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity — minor cracks are natural and part of the material. Major cracks within the first year: we fix free. After 1 year, we charge labor only.
Can I return a piece?
Ready-made pieces: 30-day returns (must arrive intact). Commissions: final sale (since they're custom-made for you). If anything arrives damaged, we'll repair or replace at no cost.
